JBB 2013 - There are a lot of different areas on the ship and we were never felt crowded.
We sailed December 9 — 16, 2018. Planning meals and show times was not easy. In my opinion the quality of the food was just average. Breakfast in the Windjammer was the same every day. Lunch did change but very little. I enjoyed the salad station which was the first station after hand washing. The hand washing sinks are a nice add but a big bottleneck during peak times. Notes for Royal Caribbean: At Sabor bar Step up and allow chips and appetizers to be servers charge for them if you must but having drinks at a Mexican Bar and not being allowed to order chips and salsa is just crazy. Train all the bar staff to make the same drink with the same ingredients. When a drink should be shaken over ice before serving have all bars do it the same. Specialty restaurants should have some consistency. We celebrated our anniversary at 150 Central Park and the waiter, Sami, was outstanding. The chef cooked out steaks perfect. The sides at Chops need to be reviewed and replaced. We had a table full of very whats dates bewertung, nothing special sides. It was like they got the overcooked mac and cheese from the buffet. The steak was over cooked but not enough to send it back. Just a disappointment after the perfectly cooked steak at 150. Again not consistency between specialty restaurants. While the ocean view balcony was roomy and well laid out; the beds in the cabins need to be replaced and very soon. It was so bad a few nights I slept on the couch. If you have back or neck problems be warned; the beds are just plain bad. We had the drink package and tried the Bionic bar and the Rising Tide Bar. Best drinks were made by Mary at the Schooner Bar. We used the laundry service the first day to press shirts and they were back before dinner on the 2nd day. It was so bad my husband uninstalled the app midweek. We booked all shows ahead of time and also saw the no reservation ice and swim shows. Royal Caribbean has the best entertainment. We like the new ships the best. Just wish the Oasis class sailed to different ports. Going on a different line next year to visit Aruba and Curacao. There are a lot of different areas on the ship and we were never felt crowded. We did not find any area that was quiet. We traveled with two other couples. One couple who are travel agents bid on an upgrade and two days before travel, got their bid accepted. When they arrived at dock, there was no record of their acceptance, and their previous cabin had been given away. Harmony felt familiar wand is a newer ship so we gave it a try. It had been about 5 years since our last cruise. We had My Wife and I in one cabin and our 8 year old daughter in a separate cabin. Both ocean balcony cabins were on the 14th deck on opposite sides of the ship which allowed us to be on an outside balcony on either side of the ship for views. One cabin 14574 seemed smaller than previous cabins on Allure and Oasis which was a bit of a disappointment. The other cabin 14172 was a disability equipped cabin and was much larger although devoid of a couch and coffee table. There was a small chair and no foot stool in the corner and a small dressing table in another corner. Otherwise it had a lot of open floor space which we enjoyed. The fridges in both cabins barely cooled what we put in them and were not adjustable. As I read in other recent reviews of this ship, you do feel a bit nickeled and dimed throughout. Room service is no longer free, and we simply ordered none the entire cruise. This particular experience left us feeling shorted and as a result we are going to try Norwegian Cruise Lines for the first time next cruise. I purchased an Internet and Soda drink plan and they give you a plastic cup to refill. The cup is designed to hold a small amount - very narrow on the bottom up to a wider top. I was agitated the first time I tried to use it in the machine. I put some ice in it and sprite, drank most of it in a few seconds and put the cup back in to top it off. A message came up indicating I had to wait 8 minutes before refilling it - Seriously. You can use your card in the bar to get soft drinks at no charge and not experience the 10 minute wait time btw. Additionally, I only found 2 stations the entire time I was there - one in the 5 deck pizza parlor and the other in the windjammer buffet. I'm sure there are more but they seem well hidden. The ice cream machines on Deck 15 were poorly maintained and often closed or frozen up because of not being refilled. This was a particularly disappointing experience for our 8 year old. We purchased 3 meals for 3 people each time at the 150 Central Park, Chops and Wonderland. Great array of appetizers and main courses and great desserts. We probably will not return to Wonderland. The food there was cute but whats dates bewertung particularly tasty. We returned one entry which was fish on pretty much plan rice. One major difference with Wonderland was we were told we could not order extra entree's as you can in the other specialty restaurants. Then we watched the two tables on each side of us receive extra entrees from a different waiter. Just not a good experience there for us. I also ate in Johnny Rockets and the Sabor Mexican Restaurant for lunch multiple days and even took my 8 year old to Johnny Rockets once. Sabor was some of the best mexican cuisine I've had and was surprisingly excellent compared to the Mexican Restaurants on Allure and Oasis. The Park Cafe in Central Park which is no charge was also very good. They had an array of salads, soups, paninis, and delicious roast beef sandwiches on buns. Mini Bites was not as advertised - it just whats dates bewertung Hamburgers and hot dogs and fries and such. The little sandwich shop on the promenade deck had good sandwiches and wraps with coffee and tea at no charge. No soda station there however. When we boarded the ship, we went to the Solarium Cafe - which had a smaller buffet than Windjammer but was not crowded and was good - an escape for the crazy busy Windjammer buffet. Ice cream was a bit hard to come by - especially with the deck 15 ice cream machines being nearly useless the entire cruise. Johnny Rockets has excellent shakes and Sundaes but you have to pay for them. I'm not sure if you can purchase a sundae there without paying for an entire dinner. Marteen, San Juan and Labadee. She had to get up very early to attend classes at around whats dates bewertung am on 2 or three days. I chose not to do such because I enjoy sleeping in on vacation myself. She got to go diving in 4 separate locations as part of the program. My 8 year old daughter and a friend's 10 year old daughter enjoyer the adventure club which is no charge. We were able to get our 8 year old bumped up to the 9-11 whats dates bewertung old group so she could be with her friend. There are options to pay for 5-7 and dinner assistance along with staying I think until 2 am I believe I heard. My daughter colored a pillowcase and got all the other kisd to sign it for example. After the first day it was no unusual for empty elevators to appear. Of course after shows and at end of excursion time, elevators would fill up. We did anytime dining and made specific reservations for each night in Silk main dining and got in fairly quickly each night. We have a truly marvelous waiter and assistant - Alphan and Cintia. This really made us enjoy the cruise more. Alphan was even able to get us some great Indian food that was not on the menu. My 8 years old hugged him every night we were there - and she's normally shy. Our cabins were kept clean and no issues there. We had towel animals nearly every day which my daughter loves. My wife stubbed her toe badly in a bathroom on the beach in San Juan when she was scuba diving. We both thought it was broken and she went to the infirmary for an x-ray. Even though it did not occur on Royal Caribbean property, they did all of the xrays, medical treatment and a soft cast for free which was a nice surprise. We had to go down to customer service twice. I had purchased an internet package and there were no instructions on how to obtain a code to access such. On the first day of the cruise it was impossible to get anyone in customer service to answer the phone, so I had to go there and they had to call and get a code for internet access. They said I should have received an email with instructions. There were no emails although I showed the the email containing the billing for such. I had a frustrating experience in the arcade. When we boarded the ship and first went to our cabin there was no mention of such. When we came back to our cabin later, there were two identical letters one for me and one for my wife stating we should go to the arcade, show the letters to the attendant and he would take care of us. Problem is there is no attendant in either arcade. There is a phone and number to call - which I did. And you cannot hear the person well because of all the gaming noise. Turns out I ha to swipe to Sea Pass card at the machine you purchase credits at - whats dates bewertung not purchase anything - and then tell the guy on the phone so he could see it and add credits manually. Then after this mess, the card locked up and stopped working multiple times and I have to repeat the process and call multiple times. The card was locking up because we were using credits too fast. Grease, Columbus, the ventriloquist, and especially the water shows were all fantastic. So we had a good vacation on this cruise with a couple of bumps as noted above. Like all Oasis class ships, some might say there's too much to see and do, but if you go in with the right mind set, and look for the things that would interest you, you can find time to do it and have a lot of fun. Having previously sailed on Allure, I knew where to go and where to avoid. We had a Oceanview Balcony cabin. Now if you don't want privacy, but and don't mind a little noise during the day, a Central Park Balcony could work for you. If you like the noise or a night life person, go with a Boardwalk Balcony. Cause there can e a lot coming from the Boardwalk area, be it the music from Johnny Rockets, or from up above on the sports deck, the amount of people possibly coming from an aqua theater show at night, there's a lot of noise there. Martin, the island looks fairly good a year+ after Irma came through. Also looks good, as does the Rain Forest on the eastern part of Puerto Rico. Unless you want to waste money. The only problem I had was with the My time dinning. A lot of people went with this potion and for most nights it was fine, not having a reservation. However on the second formal night, Lobster Tail night. It was a giant cluster you know what. I wish Royal would make My Time Dinning truly my time, by not having reservations unless you have a party of 7 or more. The two Aqua shows, and the theater shows were wonderful as well. Heard the Harmony was like Oasis on steroids. Bionic bar interesting to watch. We have been to the ports before many times but wanted to try the ship and it did not disappoint. The head waiter was very nice to us maria. We are diamond and other couple was diamond plus. We asked for little bites -small little rolls and we got them every night after we asked. It seemed at night so much to do and not a lot to do whats dates bewertung the afternoon or port days. I had to change dinner around a couple of times due to the shows. Cabin and ship was very nice since ship is only a couple years old. We went with waiters suggestions all very good. Don't miss sea days in diming room. We had stir fry which was excellent. The play Grease was very good. I whats dates bewertung sure if I would enjoy so many people on a ship, and that did not really bother me. What i didn't care for is how Royal Caribbean addresses it. You need to plan, plan, plan and reserve, reserve, reserve meals and shows in advance on their horrific online system. You don't have information to work with at the time such as which nights are formal nights and other events on the calendar when making these reservations. I felt the food on the Harmony in the Windjammer and dining room was the most mediocre I have had on a Royal Caribbean ship. Having to pay extra for specialty dining to get good food seems ridiculous, but also everyone's opinion will vary. Making reservations for dining on the boat proved to be very limited availability. We found Johnny Rockets and Sobor to be big disappointments, but Wonderland to be a must do experience. The addition of Central Park and Boardwalk was a pleasant addition, as we loved evenings in Central Park. The pool configurations for adults traveling without children was also disappointing. There is no pool in the Solarium for adults only, and the small pool for adults only is lumped together with the other 3 main pools. This boat design allows for very little shaded spots for relaxing by the pool that isn't next to the smoking section set right next to the pool. If you are an activity junkie, than this ship is for you. Lots of different activities and areas to do things. The Fine Line Aqua show was amazing, one of the most entertaining and interestingly different shows I have ever seen. Mo5aic was the headliner and we thoroughly enjoyed it as well. The comedians were very funny in both the adults only show and family friendly show. Embarkation with most information done in advance and your cards waiting for you in your room was smooth and quick. There was a little delay, but rooms were ready by 1pm. You have to have a flight that leaves no earlier than 11:30am to use this service. All of our previous trips have been with our children traveling with us from the time they were 8 and 6 until late teens, so this is the first adult only cruise. I might be inclined to investigate options for more adult only cruise lines in the future. We love the fun, activities, sports, etc. It left the Solarium hot tubs cheek to cheek full the entire cruise. Overall we absolutely loved our b2b on the Harmony. You will definitely get your 1000 steps in whats dates bewertung. So many cool things to do and see on board. Even though we had 14 days, we never got to all there was. Can eat whatever you want and how much you like. We cruised a couple times on the Allure and had a Boardwalk balcony. We booked this area of the ship again because of the fun there was at that end. Anyway, the Harmony has much more going on nightly than the Allure did. That may have changed on the Allure too. It has been 2 years since our last sail on her. Luckily, the Cruise Director was able to have us moved to an ocean view balcony. We just whats dates bewertung to get away and enjoy the gorgeous weather. We found the food in the main dining room at night to not be the same as other royal ships we have sailed on. For formal night, normally we have surf and turf, on the Harmony it's either steak or lobster and the tails are very very small. It just didn't seem as special on those nights. We like many others shopped, Jamaica has many deals and they really work with you on pricing and getting you what you want. Cozumel, ugh, the grovelling and begging you to shop with them get so old. Like our port shopping guide said, just say no Gracias and keep walking but after hours of having to say that you just really get turned off from the begging. Lauderdale and stayed at the Hotel Morrison in Dania Beach. Modern, clean, great value and close to Port Everglades. Took a Lyft to the port Sunday morning far less expensive than taxi or hotel shuttle and we were on board by 12:00, smooth and fast embarkation. Impressive, beautiful, we always enjoy the art and this one didn't disappoint. Very impressed with many of the large art installations and found the buddah and shiva statues in Silk impressive. Bionic Bar was a lot of fun to watch. Crowded the first day but after that so manageable. Elevators busy only after a large show and they were very fast. Also they gave free mimosas on the last whats dates bewertung while waiting for breakfast in the dining room. We got the zoom streaming which was great. We did have one day where the reception was iffy and my husband contacted them and they gave us a refund. We ate most of our breakfast in the Solarium Bistro which I love. It is quiet, healthy fare and not too many people. We ate lunch there often and also this trip tried it for dinner. At breakfast ask for lox, they keep it in the kitchen. Dinner there is romantic, quiet and they have a huge assortment of appetizers such as mussels, ceviche and calimari. The menu trends towards Meditteranean. Dinner in the dining room was fun and the food was fine. Not spectacular but the service more than made up for it. We did Any Time Dining and always asked to share a table and me interesting people. Tried the Windjammer for two lunches the days we were in port and stayed on ship. Like the international flavor and felt the options were extensive and good. Very edgy and the art direction and costuming were phenomenal. The Fine Line: Fantastic, cool, graphics synchronized to the music and action was great. Far more than a diving water show. Also took in Hideway Heist toward the end of the cruise which was kitchy. Great projection showed the ice changing to water and back to ice again. Alot more plot and content than most ice shows and great costumes. Also watched the free-form skating show the last few days which was excellent. Far more orchestrated than advertised and preferred the second i-Skate to the 1887. Comedians were hilarious, took in the adult show as well as the last night family friendly show. Columbus show was wacky and fast paced, enjoyed the romp and the ship onstage was amazing. Grease was well done, great leads and the Orchestra was amazing. We had seen them at Jazz on Four the whats dates bewertung before and got to see how talented they were. Did not find that at all, in fact quite the opposite. Everyone was lovely, seemed genuinely interested in us and our trip and went out of their way to be of service. It makes me think that you get what you give. The first night of our cruise we met a couple who had been on an entire Give Back cruise and they were talking about how great it was to do something for others. They told us about the Volunteer Excursion available in Jamaica so we signed up. There were 13 people in our group and we rode in a bus from Falmouth to Montego Bay. Started at a halfway house where residents can stay for 6 months to get their lives together. The entire place held about 25 residents and was totally self-sustaining. They raised chickens, sold eggs, grew their own food and made crafts to whats dates bewertung. While there we collected eggs and tilled their garden. We also noticed they were in need of a new washer and we collected money to use towards that. Next we went to the heart of downtown Montego Bay which was teaming with people and traffic. We visited a wonderful mission that provided showers and toilitries to the people as well as three meals a day. We were there at lunchtime and helped in the kitchen and served people both inside and out. It was incredibly moving to see the work this group is doing and the people of Jamaica. After seeing people with no shoes and basically living on the street, coming back to the cruise ship and all the oppulence had new meaning. It was so rewarding and I felt good knowing that both of these chairities were getting some of our excursion fees. Robinson was a delight and in the future I will look for more volunteer excursions before deciding on a ship. Overall we had a fabulous time and I highly recommend Harmony of the Seas. We took advantage of everything we could. A few suggestions which I will share with Royal Caribbean: Solarium should be no kids at all times. I didn't see any during the day, but people brought them to dinner and it was disruptive. Sorry, I have raised my kids and would prefer dinner that is quiet. Don't fall for the mobile passport app, customs wanted to whats dates bewertung the real deal. Zoom was fantastic and allowed us to stay connected via facetime both on ship and with kids back home. We usually prefer Celebrity but we wanted to try this ship. We were previously on the Allure and the Oasis and had a good time except for the food. We ate all our breakfasts and. For breakfast and lunch the main dining room offered 2 choices. I usually do not like buffets, but the assortment and quality of the food was fantastic. Much, much better than the Windjammer buffet. Service throughout the ship was exceptional. Special kudos to Mimi, our waiter and Elaine Santos, the hostess in the Diamond Club. We booked an ocean view balcony cabin which was very spacious and clean. The talented cast performed the show Grease which was totally enjoyable. In fact, we went back on the last day of the cruise to see it a second time. There was entertainment going on all the time. We saw 2 wonderful ice skating shows, and 2 wonderful aqua shows. There 2 comedy shows featuring 2 comedy in each show. Jim David was by far the better comedy. My wife and I were chosen to be on the Love and Marriage game show and we had a ball. The cruise director Michele was the best that we have seen. We usually like to sit at a table to read or play board games. We were unable to do this because all they had by the pool was lounge chairs.
